If you’d told me years ago that some of the most beautiful, high-end places in Europe — the French Riviera, Tuscany, the South of France, could be ours.. on a budget, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Not for my family.
Not without sacrificing comfort or fun.
And if you’d told me we’d be staying in a caravan? I would have laughed and pictured a rainy weekend in the UK with bingo, bad Wi-Fi, and the smell of wet socks.
But here’s the truth: We’ve done these trips three times now. Each one has been epic! The kind of holidays my kids still talk about, even though they’re almost grown.
We’ve had warm summer nights under starry skies, endless BBQs on the veranda, pizza nights, lazy bakery mornings, day trips to world-famous cities… all without the price tag that usually comes with a “dream destination” holiday.
I don’t know a single family in my circle who’s done this…and that’s part of why I’m writing this, because these countries are right on our doorstep, and yet so many of us never think it’s for us.
We’re told Europe’s luxury spots are for other people. But I’m here to say: they’re for you too.
Because when you swap the hotel for a Eurocamp or campsite stay, you don’t just save money…you gain freedom, culture, and moments you can’t buy.
You wake up in places where other travellers have spent thousands to get to.
You eat fresh bread from the local boulangerie instead of a buffet croissant.
You watch your kids swim until sunset, then sit outside with a glass of wine while crickets sing in the background.
These aren’t “cheap” holidays. They’re rich in every way that matters.
